  • A Direct Support Professional (DSP) caregiver provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. We have many programs throughout Albuquerque!

    What You Get to Do: 

    • Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
    • Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.
    • Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene and more.
    • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
    • Build relationships with persons served and teammates.
    • Attend special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events.
    • Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home.
    • Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest.
    • Document progress, milestones, and action steps.

    We are looking for individuals to work at our program with persons served who may exhibit challenging interfering behaviors, such as physical aggressions, verbal aggressions and property destruction. To be successful in this role we are looking for candidates with prior experience with intense high behaviors, both verbal and physical. You will provide supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, people who are faced with metal health, behavioral, and/or significant medical challenges.

    We are looking to hire staff who are patient, have good decision making and experience working with behavioral management or crisis plans. 

    Prior IDD, mental health, psychiatric, and/or security experience is strongly preferred.
